Description:
This position is located in Brisbane and the successful candidate will need to enter into a Flexible Work Arrangement upon commencement to reflect the office location you are seeking to work from. If working from a regional office, travel to the Brisbane office will be required regularly (frequency to be negotiated with successful candidate) to fulfil operational business needs.
Key Outcomes and Accountabilities
Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver high-quality communication activities for the Commissioner and other relevant stakeholders to meet organisation objectives, including but not limited to intranet and website content, publication development, photography and event support as required, and development and delivery of communication and engagement strategies.
- Provide strategic advice to business unit areas and the Strategic Leadership Team on implementing effective communication and engagement activities.
- Draft and edit a high standard of written material within tight timeframes.
- Assist in the constant improvement of the QBCC’s communication assets, implementing innovative and cost-effective solutions.
- Strong stakeholder management in order to influence decision making and to develop solid working relationships.
- Promote and educate stakeholders and employees on the benefits and opportunities associated with communication channels.
- Assist with the production of regular reports on communication strategies and campaigns to stakeholders.
- Support the day-to-day management, coordination and improvement of the Communications team’s internal project and work management tools and processes.
- Provide exceptional customer-focused service to all staff of the QBCC and external stakeholders.
Candidate Attributes

- Demonstrated experience in, and thorough knowledge of communications strategies, issues and trends, and proven ability to use this to improve outcomes.
- Demonstrated experience as a communications officer in a similar role, including skills in writing, editing and communications planning.
- High-level verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to establish and build relationships with key stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Previous experience with intranets (e.g sharepoint), digital content production, and work management platforms (e.g Asana) is highly desirable.
