Duties

  • Plan, assign, manage and lead the daily activities and work flow of the communications and marketing team.
  • Provide proactive, timely, high quality, specialist advice to directors & the CEO.
  • Proactively and strategically manage Council’s media relations.
  • Manage Council’s corporate brand, publications (along with the Digital Communications Coordinator), advertising spend across Council and media relationships.
  • Develop complex and strategic communications plans and strategies.
  • Coach and develop team member’s in planning and delivering marketing, communications plans, media programs and issues management plans.
  • Provide guidance and support to team members on complex stakeholder management issues

To be successful in this role you must hold:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications. A degree in communications, public relations, media studies or other relevant disciplines.
  • Experience dealing/managing stakeholder relationships (Highly desirable- but not essential)
  • Previous leadership experience in a similar role (Highly desirable-but not essential)
  • Previous work experience in the communications or public relations sector (Highly desirable-but not essential)
