The OUAC is seeking a Communications Specialist: Digital to oversee the development and implementation of virtual and in-person postsecondary events, liaise with virtual event and university representatives, coordinate social media and advertising campaigns, and provide general administration and communications for the Ontario Universities’ Events (OUEvents), Guidance Dialogues and other university recruitment-related activities.
QUALIFICATIONS SOUGHT:
- University degree (or college diploma) in Digital Marketing, Communications, or a body of relevant experience.
- Experience in Event Management.
- Digital communications experience and ability to demonstrate consistent competency across all common social media channels including, but not limited to, Facebook, X, and Instagram.
- Intermediate knowledge of SEO, web usability, analytics, and reporting.
- Ability to understand and troubleshoot/modify existing HTML code.
- Understanding web accessibility and plain language.
- Knowledge in Google Analytics.
- Experience with Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and other collaborative meeting tools.
- Intermediate knowledge of WordPress.
- Advanced knowledge of InDesign and other Adobe products.

Responsibilities:
- Developing and executing virtual event operations, including but not limited to strategy, project management, event registration and data gathering\reporting.
- Collaborating with various committees to determine the virtual platforms needed, the length, dates, frequency and format/schedule for the events, and how to promote the events.
- Developing key messages and communication plans and supporting the Communications and Events Department in managing branding and marketing strategies.
- Creating content for and monitoring various social media platform accounts, with a special emphasis on the OUEvents virtual and in-person events.
- Providing technical support for the Communications and Events team, as it relates to various software, social media and virtual event platforms.
