Description:
JOB SUMMARY:

Join us as a Communications Specialist/Public Relations Specialist to drive impactful communications, outreach, and engagement initiatives. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
- The ability to obtain a Secret clearance
- 3+ years of experience performing outreach-based activities and developing content for internal or external presentation or distribution
- Federal meeting and event planning experience and the ability to work collaboratively with key internal and external partners and stakeholders
- Knowledge in working within Adobe Creative Suite (or similar) and PowerPoint
- Strong ability to develop reports and briefing materials in various formats with minimal direction from federal staff
- Demonstrated outstanding written communication and presentation skills; organizational skills, multi-tasking capabilities, flexibility, and adaptability in adjusting material development quickly and effectively

Responsibilities:
- Developing communication strategies, plans, campaigns, and outreach initiatives to enhance organizational visibility and engagement
- Conceptualizing, designing, and executing digital publications for delivery across multiple platforms, including web, mobile, social media, and intranet sites
- Providing data visualization support to create compelling and informative visual content
- Coordinating and facilitating timely communication and outreach efforts with internal and external stakeholders
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop targeted content strategies and implement innovative communication engagement programs
- Supporting the development of the virtual communications platform and other technological tools to enhance stakeholder communications
- Serving as the primary point of contact for communications and outreach efforts, liaising with internal and external partners
- Originating and refining communication guidance in accordance with prevailing DHS policies and templates
- Developing and producing visual presentations, including briefings, posters, newsletters, websites, and other communication materials
- Performing technical edits of documents to ensure accuracy and adherence to style guidelines
- Maintaining strategic communications repository and provide support for outreach inquiries
