OVERVIEW

Do you have a knack for crafting captivating content? Do you dream in hashtags and emojis? Singapore American School is on the lookout for a social media specialist to join our dynamic team. This role will specifically create and manage the content for both the current community social media platforms and the alumni social media platforms, bringing our school community to life in the digital world.
The Communications Specialist supports communications, marketing, recruitment, and engagement activities for SAS. The position will work closely with a variety of team members to implement cost-efficient and effective marketing campaigns, utilizing web-based and digital platforms.

Responsibilities:

  • Craft content that captivates, inspires, informs, and delights our audience and distribute it into articles, news items, social media posts, fact sheets, event collateral, and more
  • Create content for external vendors and media outlets
  • Monitor brand mentions across the vast digital landscape—social media, news sites, or the web
  • Spark conversations, build relationships, and spread smiles across our digital community. Be be the friendly face behind our social media accounts, connecting with students, parents, educators, and alumni
  • Create streamlined processes to ensure content reaches audiences at the right time
  • Be a team player. Collaborate with all departments to publicize our stories across multiple platforms and amplify student voice
  • Dive into data and uncover insights that drive our social media strategy forward. Define KPIs and analyze content effectiveness by leveraging web metrics, community insights and feedback, conduct content inventories, gap analyses, and competitive audits
  • Explore new platforms to continually improve communications to parents, students, faculty, donors, alumni, community leaders, and media
  • Capture captivating moments, craft compelling stories, and guide the flow of social media and website traffic to increase community engagement and improve visibility
  • Manage special projects pertaining to the online efforts of the department
  • Keep centralized repositories of graphics, logos, and photographs; catalog publications, designs, and images, ensuring they’re readily accessible for use across departments.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of all records, correspondence, etc. in a well-organized and accessible manner
  • Fulfill the duties and responsibilities of the position and abide by all Board policies

Requirements:

  • Experience in and passion for all things social media and a keen interest in exploring digital media and keeping up with the latest trends in the space. Experience with blogs, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, Instagram is critical
  • Creative thinker and problem solver
  • Experience planning and overseeing execution of a variety of content spanning text, photos, and video
  • A natural techie with the interest and excited to learn new technologies and new applications
  • Analytically inclined with a knack for understanding what data means and how to use it to continually increase the value you deliver through your content
  • High-performing self-starter, with proven ability to work both independently as well as a member of teams
  • Excellent organization and project management skills with the ability to coordinate projects, determine priorities, set deadlines, complete projects accordingly, and respond well to pressure

Additional Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with digital photography
