Community-Centres-Coordinator-June-2024
The City of Burnside is one of Adelaide’s most attractive and historic residential areas. It is well known for its tree-lined streets, period architecture, plentiful reserves and gardens within a 30 km² area. Located in the South-Eastern corner of Adelaide and just 10 minutes from the Central Business District, the City of Burnside covers 28 suburbs and has a residential population of over 45,000. We are focused on making a real difference in our community and achieving our vision to deliver services valued by our community.
We are seeking a vibrant and energetic individual for the position of Community Centres Coordinator to coordinate the day to day operations of City of Burnside community centres and venues including the Ballroom, Burnside Community Centre, Town Hall, Glenunga Hub, Dulwich Community Centre and other community spaces.
A key responsibility for this position is to increase opportunities for community and cultural participation through increased utilisation and activation of community centres, venues and spaces with effective programs that meet strategic community needs. You will be responsible for activation of venues, and liaison with community and commercial groups to organise bookings and assist in program delivery and event management.
The position will oversee a number of dedicated community centre volunteers and require a collaborative approach to ensure effective outcomes for the community.
Your sound time management skills together with your proactive and contemporary communication approach will complement your ability to deliver exceptional community engagement and experiences.

To be successful in this opportunity you will also possess:

  • Experience coordinating programs and services, including hirers, contractors and volunteers
  • Experience in event and facility management, marketing and promotions
  • Ability to build effective relationships, both internally and externally
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications (community services and/or community development or another relevant discipline) are desirable
  • Knowledge of venue booking systems such as Attekus or other similar related software

The successful candidate will have a current SA Drivers Licence and undertake National Police and DHS Checks as part of the on-boarding process.
This position is offered as a permanent position on a full-time basis, classified at Level 4 under the City of Burnside Administration Employees Enterprise Agreement 2023.
