- Candidate with a qualification in education or early childhood preferred.

Responsibilities:
ABOUT THE ROLE:
As a Community Engagement Officer, you will support the Firefly Bay & Basin team in delivering the Community Minded Kids & Youth Voice program at Sanctuary Point Primary School. Your role involves working closely with the Firefly Community Connector to provide high-quality programs and activities. Key responsibilities include participating in training and learning the Community Minded Kids and Youth Voice project modules to deliver at the school. This program aims to empower young people to feel pride and connection with their school and community and develop and implement a youth-led project at their school.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
As a part of the Firefly Bay & Basin team, your role specifically will:
- Participate in training to learn the modules to be taught at the primary school – online or option for one day in person.
- Collaborate with a diverse team to support the delivery of the Community Minded Kids & Youth Voice program at the primary school.
- Establish rapport with young people to encourage their participation and engagement in program activities.
- Work with young people to identify their needs, interests, and aspirations in the local area.
- Incorporate feedback from young people into program design and execution.
- Assist in executing activities, projects, and events co-designed with youth.
- Maintain professional relationships with key partners, services, and organizations.
- Co-design with team program communications and engagement strategies.
- Engage with the local community to promote program awareness.
- Contribute to the development, implementation, and evaluation of programs.
- Assist in co-designing programs that cater to the needs of young people.
