Job Description
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Community Engagement Specialist will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to engage with the community, build relationships, and promote the organization’s mission and services. This position will involve collaborating with various stakeholders, including community leaders, organizations, and residents, to foster positive relationships and support the organization’s initiatives.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, community development, or a related field.
- Proven experience in community engagement, outreach, or public relations roles.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish trust with diverse audiences.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Knowledge of community resources, organizations, and stakeholders in the target area.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and social media platforms.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed for events and outreach activities.
- Commitment to the organization’s mission and values.

Responsibilities:
ACCOUNTABILITY:
This is a contract position with a six-month agreement. The Community Engagement Specialist will work 15 hours per week and report to the Clinical Director.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and implement community engagement strategies to increase awareness of the organization’s mission and services.
- Build and maintain relationships with community leaders, organizations, and residents to foster partnerships and collaborations.
- Plan and execute community events, workshops, and outreach activities to engage with target audiences.
- Coordinate volunteer programs and opportunities to involve community members in the organization’s activities.
- Conduct outreach to underrepresented or marginalized communities to ensure inclusivity and accessibility of services.
- Create and distribute promotional materials, newsletters, and social media content to communicate with the community.
- Collect and analyze feedback from community members to assess the effectiveness of engagement efforts and identify areas for improvement.
- Provide support to other departments or teams within the organization as needed to advance community engagement goals.
- Maintain accurate records of community engagement activities, including attendance, feedback, and outcomes.
- Stay informed about local issues, trends, and developments that may impact the community and the organization’s work.
