    Job Title: Community Events Coordinator- Local Government - Opportunities
    We have several upcoming opportunities in the Community Events space over the coming weeks and months.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

Relevant TAFE Diploma/Advanced Diploma or significant experience in coordinating community events resulting in the same level of knowledge and skills
Highly developed administrative, communication, interpersonal, and business skills within a multidisciplinary work environment
Excellent prioritizing skills, with the ability to work unsupervised or in a team environment
Highly developed computer literacy, particularly with Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to work in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment
Excellent time management skills, with the ability to meet strict deadlines
Flexibility to work out of ordinary hours and weekends for event day delivery
Proven ability to utilize safe manual handling techniques with setting up and packing down events
Demonstrated knowledge of safety and health practices and requirements for the workplace
Current West Australian ‘C’ Class Driver’s License
Current National Police Clearance Certificate
Current Working with Children Certificate

DESIRED SKILLS:

Ability to read, understand, and apply legislation and standards relevant to public events, preferably within a Local Government work environment
Current Applied First Aid Certificate
Demonstrated experience in the development of risk management plans pertaining to public events
Marketing experience

Responsibilities:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders while providing excellent customer service
Provide support in event planning from start to finish according to the requirements, target audience, and objectives
Assist with the delivery of events by preparing the venue, setting up equipment, the schedule of activities, and packing down equipment
Research and build relationships with vendors while implementing all events’ creative and logistical aspects
Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to develop, maintain, and expand the activation and events offering
Review and develop robust procedures to support the processes to ensure best practices align with relevant legislation
Coordinate the marketing for event delivery in collaboration with the organization’s Media and Communications team
Provide support to the Manager Activation and Events to develop, implement, and deliver on the Activation and Events Strategy
Coordinate the development and advertising of the organization’s annual Events Plan
Assist the Manager Activation and Events on grant and other funding opportunities for the activation and event initiatives
Analyze the success of completed events and prepare reports
Assist the Manager Activation and Events with budget preparations, reports, and continuous improvement for the portfolio
Comply with legal, insurance, health, and safety regulations at all times

We are currently recruiting for our client who is located in regional Western Austrailia. organization is offering a flexible employment arrangement for this role, providing the successful candidate with the following options:

  • Contract or Permanent Position:
  • The role can be offered either as a 6-month contract or a permanent full-time position, depending on the candidate’s preference.
  • Work Hours:
  • The role is a full-time position, 38 hours per week.
  • Additionally, the Events Coordinator will be required to work additional hours on weekends to support the delivery of events.
  • Salary:
  • The salary range for this position is $81,000 to $89,000 per annum, depending on the candidate’s experience.
  • The organization is willing to annualize the salary to incorporate the additional hours required for event delivery on weekends.
  • Living Allowance:
  • If the successful candidate is not provided with housing, the organization will offer a living allowance of up to $15,000 per annum.
  • Accommodation:
  • The organization is in the process of securing 4 houses that can be provided to the successful candidate.
  • The rent for the accommodation will be approximately $150 per week, plus utilities.
  • Relocation Assistance:
  • The organization will provide relocation assistance of up to $15,000 for the successful candidate.
  • Short-Term Contract Option:
  • If the candidate only wishes to work in the role for 6 months, the organization will not provide relocation assistance.
  • Instead, the organization will provide fully furnished accommodation for the duration of the 6-month contract
