The details: Permanent – Full Time - 80 hours per fortnight - Monday to Friday with the occasional Saturday

We are currently seeking an experienced mental health professional with a passion for innovation and delivering services differently to join us in our Triage team. The Triage team are the first point of contact for Tangata Whaiora, whanau and referrers into Mental Health and Addiction services, providing a warm welcome and supporting navigation to the right supports whether that is within services or external.

Responsibilities:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE:
The triage team plays a vital role in community mental health and addictions service, receiving all referrals into the service and ensuring they are either referred on to an appropriate community service or are brought into the appropriate team. Creating strong working relationships across the sector at primary, secondary and tertiary levels, alongside a collaborative MDT approach to assessment are key components of this role.

Skills and experience you’ll need to be considered for the role:
- A current annual practicing certificate enabling working in the mental health sector
- Experience working within the mental health field
- Ability to confidently assess, formulate presentation and risk and report this to MDT in a clear and concise manner
- Interpersonal skills, therapeutic engagement, critical thinking and communication skills
- The ability to be service user/tangata whaiora focussed, innovative and work effectively in a multidisciplinary team as well as autonomously
- A good understanding of the community and services available
- Knowledge and understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi
- A current full driver’s licens
