JOB SUMMARY:
- Experience planning, facilitating, and leading community organizing efforts in New Brunswick to foster growth and development of the community and the empowerment, organization, self-reliance, growth, and improvement of neighborhood residents.
- The Community Outreach Director fosters the principles of social justice and collaborates with potential funding sources, faith communities, civic organizations, resident groups, and local government impacting on the community.
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of neighborhood revitalization grant requirements, contractual reporting to various funding sources, staff supervision, community outreach, program development, implementation and oversight.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree with 5-10 years experience or Master’s degree with 2-5 years experience
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for program development, budget monitoring, supervision of staff and affiliates, liaison to community/governmental entities, training of staff/volunteers/community leaders, and understanding/implementing funding source and regulatory requirements for Department of Community Affairs Neighborhood Revitalization.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred.
