Description:
Overview:
As a Community Program Coordinator, you will play a vital role in supporting the sports and aquatics departments at the YMCA of Pueblo. Responsibilities will include managing and assisting in various administrative, operational, and managerial tasks related to the effective functioning of programs and activities. You will assist in coordinating schedules, managing facilities, communicating with athletes, coaches, and families, and ensuring the smooth operation of sports and aquatics events and programs.
Responsibilities:
- Administrative Support:
- Assist in organizing staff meetings, maintaining calendars, and communication with program participants.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and documents needed for programs.
- Manage databases, registrations, and files related to sports programs, athletes, coaches, and events.
- Event Coordination:
- Assist in planning, coordinating, and executing sports and aquatic programs, competitions, and tournaments.
- Coordinate logistics such as facility booking, equipment usage, and participant registration.
- Provide on-site support during events to ensure smooth operations and address any issues that arise.
- Communication and Liaison:
- Serve as a point of contact for athletes, coaches, parents, and other participants regarding inquiries, schedules, and updates.
- Communicate effectively with internal departments, external organizations, and vendors to facilitate successful program growth and partnerships.
- Serve as a role model to members and YMCA staff. Live the mission, vision, and values of the YMCA movement.
- Facility Management:
- Assist in managing sports and aquatics facilities, including scheduling, maintenance, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
- Program Support:
- Assist in developing and implementing sports and aquatics programs, initiatives, and policies in alignment with organizational goals.
- Help recruit, onboard, and support coaches, volunteers, and staff involved in sports programs.
- Participate in the evaluation and assessment of sports and aquatics programs to identify areas for improvement.
- Staff Support:
- Lead program staff with setup and takedown on event days.
- Assist with staff training and meetings.
- Miscellaneous Tasks:
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Community Program Director to ensure the efficient operation of sports and aquatics programs and activities.
- Stay updated on trends, regulations, and best practices in the fields of sports and aquatics for continuous improvement.
- Adherence to all policies and procedures of the YMCA of Pueblo.
- Understand and follow all safety rules and regulations including knowledge of emergency procedures and location of emergency equipment.
