Description:

In partnership with Correctional Services Canada, the CRF department exists to provide offenders transitioning from prison to the community a safe, hopeful environment in which they can restore their place in the community through the services we provide.
The CRF Manager directs, leads, and manages CRF support staff and oversees the effective delivery of services to individuals residing in the CRF at The Salvation Army ARC. This position reports to ARC Executive Director. This position is full-time based out of our Victoria office. This is not a remote position.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:

  • BA in a relevant human and/or social services field (social work, psychology, criminology, sociology, etc.)
  • Comprehensive knowledge of current social issues related to incarceration, homelessness, mental illness, and addictions is essential.
  • Class 5 Drivers License.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 2-5 years of demonstrated leadership / supervisory experience.
  • Experience working with marginalized populations is essential.

REQUIRED SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE:

  • Comprehensive knowledge evaluating and implementing program policies and procedures.
  • Skilled in problem solving and demonstrated strong analytical abilities.
  • Strong leadership skills able to foster a healthy, positive environment for employees / clients.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with challenging behaviors and stressful situations.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply safe work procedures.
  • Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training and First Aid Certification an asset.
  • Naloxone training.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients and co-workers both verbally and in writing.
  • Effective personal boundary setting skills with both clients and co-workers.
  • Strong multi-tasking skills.
  • Excellent written and oral skills.
  • Strong interpersonal / people skills.
  • Proficient with Office Suite, especially Microsoft Excel, emails, Social Media etc.

PREFERRED SKILLS/CAPABILITIES:

  • Previous management experience in a community corrections setting is an asset.

Obtaining a Reliability Screening Security clearance with Contract Security Program is a required for this position. Successful candidates, prior to hiring, may also be required to provide:

  • Background check consent.
  • A clear vulnerable sector screening.
  • A clean drivers abstract.
  • Completion of our online Armatus Abuse Training and required Health and Safety training.
