THIS IS A TEMP TO PERM OPPORTUNITY

Our client is seeking a dynamic Company Accountant to join their team in Milton, Brisbane. As a key member of the Finance team, you will report directly to the FP&A Manager and play a pivotal role in managing various financial aspects of the organization.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Tertiary education and CA/CPA qualification.
  • 3-5 years of post-qualification experience in a similar role.
  • Strong technical foundation with practical experience in corporate environments.
  • Experience in managing tax affairs, particularly GST, PAYG, and payroll tax.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proven ability to take on responsibility and be accountable.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to communicate solutions effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Excel.
  • Experience with accounting software packages, especially Xero, is desirable.

Responsibilities:

  • Handle invoicing and accounts receivable efficiently.
  • Oversee the processing and payment of vendor invoices.
  • Reconcile all accounts accurately.
  • Assist in the preparation of weekly cash flow reports.
  • Manage day-to-day accounting transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Support in the preparation of monthly management accounts with relevant commentary.
  • Ideally, manage payroll processing and associated tasks.
  • Prepare and lodge FBT, BAS, IAS, and payroll tax filings, reconciling associated liabilities.
  • Collaborate with external accountants for annual tax and accounts lodgment.
  • Assist in the preparation of year-end statutory accounts and liaise with external auditors.
  • Contribute to budgeting and forecasting activities.
  • Identify and propose process improvement and systems enhancement initiatives.
  • Proactively identify new initiatives to benefit the organization.
