Adolfson & Peterson Construction, one of the nation’s top contractors, is recruiting for an experienced Compensation & Benefits Analyst for our Business Services department serving all regions.
This position is responsible for supporting and assisting in the design, analysis, development, communication, and administration of AP Total Rewards programs. Audit benefits and compensation plans, recommend updates, and maintain all compliance requirements including, FLSA, ACA, HIPAA, and COBRA. Perform duties to partner with and support the business in the following areas: compensation and benefits administration and people analytics. In addition, participate as a member of the HR team in process documentation, communication, and reporting.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • History of experience and proven results including:
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or business-related field and 4+ years of related experience in compensation and benefits;
  • In-depth experience working with HRIS, online benefits, and vendor systems, including building eligibility files and queries.
  • Working knowledge of benefit plans such as HSA, FSA, and 401k.
  • Working knowledge of benefit laws, regulatory requirements, and HR policies and practices.
  • Experience working in a union environment preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

  • Developed skills (written, oral, and listening) to effectively communicate with diverse audiences.

Responsibilities:

  • Take personal responsibility for working safely within an Incident and Injury Free (IIF) culture.
  • Develop and maintain the compensation structure in alignment with the company’s compensation philosophy, in a manner that meets business needs and provides the business the ability to be competitive in the employment marketplace.
  • Participate in compensation surveys and gather compensation survey data sufficient to determine appropriate pay ranges for all positions
  • Manage and coordinate bi-annual pay band review and updates based on survey data gathered and regional market fluctuations
  • Conduct ad hoc job pricing as needed to meet the needs of the business
  • Assist with the facilitation and distribution of compensation communication and tools including; total rewards statement, merit review worksheets and bonus program
  • Write, evaluate, benchmark, and market value position descriptions.
  • Ensure compliance with FLSA/ADA/DOL and State and local regulations.
  • Administer and support all union team member wage rate updates and classification changes.
  • Understand the various classifications in different bargaining agreements.
  • Administers and supports policies, programs, and procedures, including but not limited to health and welfare benefits, wellness program, disability, leaves of absences and retirement benefits.
  • Manage on-going enrollment changes and monthly billings;
  • Respond to team member questions and concerns, provide support to new team members to ensure benefits elections are completed within the allotted time periods; assist users with system navigation issues and resolve technical problems with vendors; work with vendor partners to resolve team members escalated issues
  • Administer the annual enrollment process and annual wellness program.
  • Assist with the 401(K) plan administration and annual audit.
  • Manage the administration of all paid and unpaid leaves (FMLA, LTD, Maternity, etc.)
  • Act as a subject matter expert on AP’s HRIS functionality; maximize and maintain HRIS functionality to capture accurate, timely team member information:
  • Ensure that team member database accurately captures, stores, and drives current and comprehensive team member indicative data and eligibility.
  • Update team member benefits and 401(k) participant enrollment changes and deductions.
  • Perform group data updates, exports/imports, clean-ups, and research/report on any discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with Payroll, IT staff, and benefits vendors on team member data requests.
  • Continually look for ways to improve and automate HR tools and systems and provide recommendation for future enhancements.
  • Create and submit company and government reporting and ensuing that AP is compliant with all reporting requirement.
  • Identify, track, and analyze key HR metrics for the organization.
  • Provide synopses of trends and make recommendations to HR management.
  • Deliver quarterly people analytics dashboard for leadership.
  • Provide reporting and analysis of internal and external data, including benefits and compensation.
  • Maintain and apply in-depth knowledge of compliance requirements related to Human Resources.
  • Maintain a high level of security and confidentiality in all matters related to team member data, especially when dealing with sensitive team member issues.
  • Other duties as assigned.
