Description:

We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Compensation & Benefits Specialist. This role is based in Lansing, Michigan, and involves managing and administering employee compensation and benefits. The specialist will also play a crucial role in compliance, claims administration, and other HR functions.

Responsibilities:

  • Administer and manage HRMS systems including ADP - Financial Services, ADP Workforce Now, Ceridian, Dayforce, and About Time.
  • Oversee and execute all benefit functions, including health insurance, retirement benefits, and 403B Plans.
  • Manage compensation administration processes, ensuring that they are fair and in line with industry standards.
  • Handle claim administration tasks, such as processing worker’s compensation and short term/long term disability claims.
  • Ensure compliance with FMLA, ADA Accommodations, and other relevant laws and regulations.
  • Administer and manage the Tuition Reimbursement Program for employees.
  • Regularly review and update policies and procedures related to compensation and benefits.
  • Resolve any issues or inquiries related to employee compensation and benefits.
  • Collaborate with other HR team members to ensure a cohesive and comprehensive HR service.
  • Stay updated on latest trends and best practices in compensation and benefits.
  • Proficiency in using HRMS and About Time software
  • Understanding of Benefit Functions and Claim Administration
  • Experience in Compensation Administration
  • Familiarity with compliance regulations in the education sector
  • Knowledge of FMLA, Workers Compensation, and Short Term/Long Term Disability
  • Ability to facilitate ADA Accommodations
  • Experience in administering Tuition Reimbursement Programs
  • Understanding of Health Insurance policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of Retirement Benefits, specifically 403B Plans
  • Experience in working with universities or other educational institutions is a plus
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion in handling sensitive information.
