Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the Lead, Compensation, is responsible for leading and coordinating job analysis and Job Evaluation (JE) activities for union and non-union positions; providing analysis and consultation to People, Equity and Culture (PEC) staff and client Departments on compensation requests and related issues; partnering with HRMS to set up compensation programs in Peoplesoft, including preparing pay for performance (P4P) processes, and developing and facilitating training; and administering the Pay for Performance program.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Completes job analysis reviews and attends meetings to review new or revised positions, in consultation with HR Consultants and Business Partners.
  • Completes initial job evaluation (JE) for new union and non-union jobs and ensures prompt communication and implementation of results.
  • Works with Compensation team and HR Consultants and Business Partners to identify jobs for review.
  • Prepares performance appraisal processes to administer compensation awards, including design, set-up, and communication.
  • Provides customer support through all phases of the job review process including development of new or revised job description.
  • Works with PEC partners to ensure consistency in the application of pay policies and practices with respect to acting pay, secondments, promotional policies, and pay for performance recommendations.
  • Keeps abreast of trends and assists in updating compensation policies and procedures with respect to JE, salary administration, compensation analysis, pay for performance and pay equity.
  • Participates in roll out of new programs, processes, and procedures, as required.
  • Actively develops working partnerships with Regional staff and external municipal counterparts.
  • Represents HR at internal and external meetings, including seminars, conferences and internal committee work.
