POSITION OVERVIEW:

As a Complex Behavioural Learning Needs Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing personalized support to students with diverse behavioural challenges. Your empathy, patience, and enthusiasm will contribute to creating a supportive and engaging learning environment where every student feels valued and encouraged.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

Previous experience working with individuals with complex behavioural needs, preferably in an educational or similar setting.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with students, colleagues, and parents/carers.
Empathy, patience, and resilience when working with challenging behaviours or situations.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and contribute positively to a supportive environment.
Relevant qualifications or training in special education, psychology, counselling, or behaviour management are desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities:

Provide one-on-one support to students with complex behavioural needs, both inside and outside the classroom.
Implement individualized behaviour management strategies to promote positive behaviour and emotional well-being.
Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and support staff to develop and implement personalized learning plans for students.
Foster positive relationships with students, encouraging social interaction, communication, and self-confidence.
Maintain accurate records of student progress, behaviours, and achievements, and communicate effectively with relevant stakeholders.
Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.
