Description:

AXA Partners Mexico is seeking for talented professionals to join our team as a Compliance Officer.
The Compliance function is a key role in the organization to ensure the compliance with local and international regulations, as well as internal policies for the minimization and mitigation of compliance and reputational risks. Also, responsible for implementing and administrating every aspect of the organisation ethical and compliance program, ensuring compliance with regulatory and legal obligations, including, all applicable national and international laws within the company’s scope of operation. This role will support the business teams and collaborate with the Central team.
Responsible for Customer Protection, Financial Crimes (Anti-Money Laundering and Counter Terrorism Financing), International Sanctions or Restrictive Measures, Anti-Bribery (Anti-bribery policy, conflict of interest, Gifts and Entertainment), Due Diligence Procedures, Ethics and Professional Conduct, Best Practices / Regulators requirements.

Key objectives:

  • Maintain a strong presence in the business to ensure the development of robust Compliance Culture, provide BAU Compliance support to the business teams and operations.
  • Provide Regulatory advice where required.
  • Conduct Compliance Monitoring Reviews in line with the annual Compliance Plan.
  • Conduct Compliance Training and Awareness programs.
  • Work collaboratively with others in the Legal and Compliance function across AXA Partners to ensure a One AXA approach.
  • Act as the point of contact with the organization and external parties regarding all ethics, regulatory and compliance issues.
  • Ensure appropriate escalation of issues and matters requiring approval, centrally.
  • Report to Local ExCom and other company stakeholders as required.
  • Responsibility for Special Projects where required.
  • Conduct and update the compliance risk assessment and the Anti-Bribery & Corruption risk assessment and implement or modify the organization’s ethics and compliance program in order to minimize risks to the organization.
  • Develop training and awareness programs for the business based on country/organizational need as well as trend analysis and/or risk assessment.
  • Lead the development and implementation of new ethics and compliance policies and procedures for the company.
  • Lead, participate in ethical and legal compliance related research arising in Mexico taking the lead in overseeing the implementation of strategies and action plans.
  • Comply with the rules and policies of information security, data privacy, fraud prevention and other current regulations; executing their functions following the different regulations and procedures to ensure that no risk is incurred that may trigger a security incident, operational or fraud. Collaborating with the realization of courses and training sessions to become aware of and follow the security regulations in force; and reporting any incident or risk detected.
  • Develop activities inherent to the position, which contribute to the achievement of the company’s objectives.

Your Profile
Bachelor’s Degree in law, or related field. Minimum 5 years of experience of which 3 must be related to compliance.
Good knowledge of legal requirements and procedures.
Effective communication (oral and written) in Spanish and English (advanced mandatory)
Highly-analytical with strong attention to detail.
Understanding and experience of insurance regulatory framework.
Ability to travel to the business operation to oversee effectiveness of local compliance programs.
Ability to meet or exceed deadline, prioritise, multi-task and maintain flexibility in a fast paced changing environment.
Commercial acumen and ability to influence with persuasive skills and a high level of personal integrity
