The Compliance Specialist position provides compliance, privacy, and risk program support to provide an effective compliance program. A Compliance Specialist is expected to possess intermediate skills in investigative and research techniques and practices, while developing greater expertise in regulatory compliance, privacy, and risk topics. Heritage Health is an FQHC that specializes in primary care, behavioral health, psychological testing, substance use disorders, and dental services.
The Compliance Specialist works with all levels of the organization. In this role you will have the ability to develop skills and gain experience working on a wide range of regulatory compliance topics, under direction of the Compliance Program management.
Requirements:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 2-3 years’ work experience
  • Experience working in healthcare compliance, privacy, or risk.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including active listening
  • Investigative and research skills
  • Intermediate skill levels in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2-3 years of progressive experience in Healthcare Compliance.
  • Familiarity with risk management principles in the healthcare context

Responsibilities:

  • Stay current on, and communicate, changes in healthcare compliance regulations
  • Responsible for researching, reviewing, and interpreting federal and state regulations
  • Assist with creating, maintaining, and delivering education content throughout all levels of the organization.
  • Coordinate and assist projects and compliance plan workgroups.
  • Assist in the review, edit, or creation of compliance program policies and procedures.
  • Under the direction of Compliance Program management, perform assigned investigations and compliance projects while keeping management well apprised of results and completion status.
  • Participate on large, complex, or organization wide projects or investigations, including work being performed under the direction of legal. s
  • Act as a technical resource, answer questions, analyze data, and conduct research,
  • Support the compliance committee by drafting agendas, taking minutes, tracking action items, and maintaining records of committee activity.
  • Scheduling and coordinating clinic rounding to support the compliance program.
  • Commitment to professional growth and understanding of the changing environment through current events reading, continuing education, self-study, cross-functional training, and work assignment variation.
  • Other duties as assigned
