JOIN OUR TEAM AS A COMPUTATIONAL RESEARCH ASSOCIATE!
The McGovern lab is seeking a talented and motivated Computational Research Associate to join their research group. Our research aims to understand the role of mononuclear phagocytes in autoimmunity and placental development.
This is a grade G7 Research Associate post, dependant on previous skills and experience.
Responsibilities:
ABOUT THE ROLE:
You will develop your own projects and support other projects in the lab. This will involve analysis of single cell and spatial transcriptomic data sets generated from human tissues to understand immune cells and their cross-talk with stromal cells in health and disease. You will be working with cell biologists across a range of expertise including immunology, virology, microbiology, and clinicians to adapt, improve, and integrate existing software, to best answer the scientific questions of the research programme. You will also be encouraged to develop novel computational tools to support this.
YOUR TASKS:
- Design, implementation and application of single-cell and spatial transcriptomic analysis workflows
- Statistical analysis and data visualization
- Interaction and collaboration with researchers within the McGovern team
- Consultation regarding the planning and design of sequencing experiments
- Presentation and reporting of results
- Recommendation of publicly available resources and tools
- Working in a team with bioinformatic and computational colleagues
- Training and supervision of undergraduate and PhD students
