What you will be working on
- Perform day-to-day computer operations such as the execution of batch jobs, system backup and monitoring of online services in the Mainframe (MVS) and AS/400 system in a 24x7 environment.
- Perform open system monitoring functions and provide support.
- Ensure timely batch service delivery is kept at optimum service level.
- Monitor the data center facilities, system uptime, system performance and online services.
- Provide operational support such as QA checklists, start-up/shutdown system tasks and system IPL.
- Diagnose and log hardware problems and system errors into problem ticketing system, coordinate problem resolution with respective vendor or system programmer.
- Escalate unresolved problems to next level or vendor.
- Maintain proper operation documentation and records.
What we are looking for
- Prior working experience in a service desk operations or data center environment.
- Familiarity in incident management process.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word & Excel).
- Ability to work on 12-hour rotating shift, including weekends and public holidays.
Seniority of appointment will commensurate with relevant work experience.
