Description:

The North Adams Public Schools seeks experienced candidates for a position of Computer Support Technician. A successful candidate will have exposure to a mix of recent and evolving technologies in the K-12 Education environment. This is a year-round position. It is for 8 hours per day for 5 days per week.Performance responsibilities: Provides hands-on hardware and software support to faculty and student users at multiple locationsManages and supports the deployment, and collection of technology equipment at assigned school(s) under the direction of the Director of Technology and building principalTroubleshoots computer software and A/V problems either independently or with other IT staffFields/triages and resolves technology help desk calls and requests for all district sitesEnsure all software and hardware is up-to-date and install updates as requiredBrings unusual conditions or situations to the attention of the Director of TechnologyAssists staff during professional development training and computer-based assessments, such as NAEP, MCAS, and ACCESSSupports staff in the use of digital technology equipment, keeps work area clean and organized, maintains equipment inventory and related technology resourcesResponds in a timely fashion to trouble tickets submitted through the Technology helpdesk systemAdditional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Technology Special Knowledge/Abilities for Position: Good written and verbal communication and human relations skills.
Able to handle confidential material in a responsible manner. Capable of multitasking, prioritizing and managing time efficiently. Comfortable in a diverse and fast-paced environment.
