ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
As a Construction Material Tester, you will be responsible for conducting tests in accordance with AS 1012 and other relevant standards on freshly poured concrete and concrete samples, both in field and on-site laboratory, with sand and/or aggregate testing also undertaken. This role is tailored for a motivated individual who excels in physical tasks while maintaining timeliness and professionalism. Ideally suited to someone who is looking for increased responsibility and ownership of a role within a small, but expanding, concrete and aggregates testing lab. Successful candidate will fill a role consisting of a 5-day working week, occasional Saturday shifts may be required.
Responsibilities:
- Sampling and testing of fresh concrete as per Australian Standards on construction sites.
- Collecting concrete test samples from construction sites
- Ensure hardcopy test data maintained and entered into the business Construction Materials Laboratory software.
- Undertaking quality assurance checks and ensuring all testing equipment are maintained and calibrated.
- Working with Senior Quality Officer and Technical Manager in development and implementation of NATA accredited procedures.
- Undertaking testing of cured concrete samples in the on-site laboratory.
- Sampling and testing of sand samples from the various production lines and stockpiles within the organization.
- Working with senior quality officer and allocations on scheduling/reporting of specific jobs, general housekeeping and maintenance
- Other tasks as deemed necessary and suitable the Technical Supervisor/Senior Quality Officer
- Assist with technical/sales enquiries and requests pertaining to specific products or blends.
