JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Conferencing Services team is looking for a Conferencing Engineer to perform Engineering responsibilities. Working in this role you will have an opportunity to help roadmap and deploy conferencing solutions globally across Sun Life. The Conferencing operations Engineer also has responsibility for the operations, maintenance, and protection of all conferencing related services and spaces globally.
The Conferencing Engineer will be a subject matter expert and Product Owner to create product solution roadmaps and define the strategic vision for the team based on the overall organization’s vision. They have a deep understanding of collaboration tools, process optimization, an interest in technology, and can advocate for user needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead conferencing initiatives, projects, designs, implementation and performing POC/POV for new conferencing technologies/solutions.
  • Support and manage existing conferencing technologies that are currently deployed globally across Sun Life
  • Implement new conferencing controls and capabilities into existing environment and be responsible to deploy, support and maintain new conferencing technologies/solutions.
  • Define, document and implement consistent global standards and procedures.
  • Contribute ideas for best practice improvements, process improvement, and innovative solutions.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on Teams and Zoom architecture, offering insights, recommendations, and strategic direction to support organizational objectives. This may lead to design discussions and leading security and governance approval discussions to bring in new technology
  • Set ambitious and clear product vision and communicate vision effectively to stakeholders, the team, and the organization
  • Escalation for operational issues that may require advance troubleshooting
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation and procedures for all supported products, systems and processes
  • Occasional participation in after-hours and weekend support of production implementations, infrastructure activities, and various disaster recovery exercises
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving technical challenges.
  • Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of Microsoft Teams, Zoom and WebEx Conferencing and Room architecture to meet organizational needs.
  • Ability to embrace and champion change and continuously evolve your thinking to deliver the best user experience to the company
  • Develop and maintain documentation, including architecture diagrams, configurations, and standard operating procedures.
  • Strong collaborator with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications, designs, and operationalize.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior team members and peers, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous learning.
  • Ability to propose and present new roadmap, solutions and strategies to business leaders and stakeholders
