Construction Accountant

Our client is currently seeking an experienced Construction Accountant to join their dynamic team on a direct hire basis. Responsibilities

• Manage AIA billing, work in progress reports, and percent of completion accounting
• Coordinate with commercial lenders to present well-structured draw packages
• Apply your accounting expertise to the construction process, from preliminary estimates to the final cost
• Analyze financial data and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner
• Ensure all accounting practices comply with government regulations and policies

Qualifications

• Previous experience in construction accounting with a strong emphasis on AIA billing
• Proficiency with percent of completion accounting
• Demonstrated ability to present draw packages to commercial lenders
• Strong interpersonal skills, proficient in building professional relationships
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
• Great attention to detail
• Deep understanding of internal controls and SOX compliance
• Able to manage time well
• Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges
• BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are preferred
• Accounting experience in publicly-traded company a plus
• Critical thinking skills and the ability to retain complex work directions
• Proficiency with corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems required
• Ability to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent, and to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment
• 5+ years of overall general accounting experience, ideally with Big 4 experience
• Ability to complete multiple tasks and projects within deadlines
• Knowledgeable of ERP systems
• US GAAP experience
• General ledger experience
• Comprehensive knowledge of AIA Billing
• Construction Drawings experience preferred
• Proficiency in percentage (%) of completion
