Description:
Our client is currently seeking an experienced Construction Accountant to join their dynamic team on a direct hire basis. Responsibilities
- Manage AIA billing, work in progress reports, and percent of completion accounting
- Coordinate with commercial lenders to present well-structured draw packages
- Apply your accounting expertise to the construction process, from preliminary estimates to the final cost
- Analyze financial data and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner
- Ensure all accounting practices comply with government regulations and policies
Qualifications
- Previous experience in construction accounting with a strong emphasis on AIA billing
- Proficiency with percent of completion accounting
- Demonstrated ability to present draw packages to commercial lenders
- Strong interpersonal skills, proficient in building professional relationships
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Great attention to detail
- Deep understanding of internal controls and SOX compliance
- Able to manage time well
- Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges
- BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are preferred
- Accounting experience in publicly-traded company a plus
- Critical thinking skills and the ability to retain complex work directions
- Proficiency with corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems required
- Ability to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent, and to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment
- 5+ years of overall general accounting experience, ideally with Big 4 experience
- Ability to complete multiple tasks and projects within deadlines
- Knowledgeable of ERP systems
- US GAAP experience
- General ledger experience
- Comprehensive knowledge of AIA Billing
- Construction Drawings experience preferred
- Proficiency in percentage (%) of completion
