WHAT SKILLS DO YOU BRING?

  • Sound knowledge of construction management practices and principles, construction techniques and practices, including familiarity with construction laws, contract administration, contract inspection and claims management as well as knowledge of TTC operating environment.
  • Must have some knowledge of and become proficient in the Construction Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act, Regulations for Construction Projects.
  • Must have or rapidly acquire a comprehensive knowledge of the Ontario Human Rights Code and Related Orders including disability accommodation and accessibility requirements pertaining to passengers and employees.

WHAT QUALIFICATIONS DO YOU BRING?

  • Completion of a university degree in a related discipline (civil/mechanical/electrical engineering/architecture) combined with several years of experience in the inspection and administration of medium to heavy construction projects in an urban environment or a combination of education, training and experience deemed to be equivalent.
  • Registered as a Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario or Licensed Architect in good standing with the Ontario Association of Architects (with eligibility for a professional seal) is required.
  • Strong knowledge of, and experience in specialized construction scheduling methods and analysis.

Responsibilities:

You will be responsible for providing various technical, analytical, administrative, financial, and field functions to ensure the effective administration of construction contracts and projects within the Engineering, Construction and Expansion group (ECE). The incumbent will demonstrate behaviours that support diversity, inclusion, and a respectful work and service environment that is free from discrimination and harassment and help to remove barriers and accommodate employees and customers (within their area of responsibility) in accordance with TTC’s commitments and obligations under the Ontario Human Rights Code (OHRC) and Related Orders, the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA), and TTC’s policies. You will be required to participate in the TTC Customer Service Ambassador Program.
Please note that due to the nature of projects, shifts (day/night) and off days may vary. Overtime may be required to meet project deadlines or in case of emergencies.
