KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Have at least 12 months + experience within construction law, seeking a new challenge with a non-contentious focus.
Enthusiasm, proactivity, and a drive to develop professionally.
A willingness to contribute to the success and development of the team.
An ability to deliver concise & practical legal advice.
Exceptional newly qualified candidates will also be considered.
Maintain efficient diary and task management across a range matters, ensuring the accuracy and levels of client service expected within a high performing team

Responsibilities:

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

With new and exciting client mandates, our high performing Construction Team is looking for a 1-4 PQE + lawyer to join our expanding Scotland practice.
You will act for a number of FTSE 100 and local clients, supporting a variety of non-contentious construction work.
We provide first-class technical insight and training and are looking for an enthusiastic team member who wants to build their long-term career with us and become a well-rounded lawyer providing quality, commercial advice for our clients.

WHAT TO EXPECT IN THIS ROLE:

You will be based within our Glasgow or Edinburgh office (the latter being where our contentious team is based) and you will be required to be in the office a minimum of three days per week.
If you’re Edinburgh located, you can expect to spend some time in Glasgow (where your immediate colleagues are based) on a regular basis.
The successful candidate can expect to have significant client contact. This is a fun, high performing, cohesive, busy team and there are excellent prospects for career development and a fantastic array of clients for you to get involved with and help deliver their projects.

The team has a strong reputation for providing associates with early levels of responsibility within a supportive and stretching environment and therefore you can expect to take a leading role on some matters. At this stage in your career the team will take a genuine interest and support you with your development therefore offering excellent career prospects.
You will be assisting in the drafting of and advising clients on a range of construction issues and documentation including consultant appointments, warranties, construction and development contracts, in a range of sectors including living, office, retail life sciences, energy industrials and transport.
