WT is a consulting firm with over 65 years of quality service that offers professional services in the southwestern United States in the fields of geotechnical engineering, environmental engineering, construction materials engineering and testing, nondestructive testing, and welding inspection. We have a full-time opportunity for an experienced Construction Materials Special Inspector and Project Manager in our Flagstaff, Arizona office, established in the area over 45 years ago. This is an excellent opportunity for a talented professional to help lead the Northern Arizona Unit.

Education, Experience and Skills

  • 4+ years of construction materials testing and observation experience, required
  • Ability to read and comprehend plans and specifications, required
  • Experience with performing IBC Special Inspections, required
  • Experience ranging from small to large complex construction and/or heavy highway projects, preferred
  • High school diploma or equivalent, required
  • 4-year Civil Engineering degree, preferred
  • A valid driver’s license and a clean driving history, required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail, required
  • Strong organization and planning skills, required
  • Comfortable with MS Office including Word, Excel, Outlook, and OneDrive, require

Responsibilities:

  • Work with project designers and clients to ensure that client specifications are followed
  • Perform routine to complex inspections and testing of construction materials in the field
  • Prepare daily reports on observation activities
  • Review observation and test data for accuracy and completeness
  • Assist with proposal scoping and preparation
  • Track project budgets and prepare invoicing
  • Assist with training, supervision, and mentoring of junior staff as needed

Education, Experience and Skills

  • 4+ years of construction materials testing and observation experience, required

Minimum Certifications

  • ACI Concrete Field-Testing Technician
  • One ICC Certification

Preferred Certifications

  • ICC Reinforced Concrete Special Inspector
  • ICC Structural Masonry Special Inspector
  • ICC Pre-stressed Concrete Special Inspector
  • ATTI Field Technician or equivalent
  • Nuclear Gauge / Radiation Safety
