Description:
The Construction Miner is responsible for performing a variety of tasks within a wide range of projects including underground construction, development mining, conventional mining, and mine rehabilitation. The tasks are varied and are subject to the type of mine site and the requirements of the specific project. The Construction Miner is required to adhere to company and mine site health and safety standards always following safe work practices. The Construction Miner reports directly to the Supervisor on the project. Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test will be required as a condition of employment.

REQUIRED SKILLS, EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Mechanically inclined
- Mining experience preferred but not required
- Construction and Labour related experience is required
- WHMIS and other safety-related training and certificates
- Valid Driver’s license
- Manual dexterity required to use power and hand tools
- Physically fit and capable of working long hours
- Focus on quality and attention to detail
- Ability to follow instructions, read and interpret drawings
- Ability to use judgment and apply discretion when making decisions
- Ability to work alone and in a team environment
- Ability to work at heights
- Strong time-management skills
- Must be adaptable to a changing work environment, competing demands and is able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events

Responsibilities:
- Duties are specific to the mine site and project, including but not limited to:
- Operation of underground equipment such as scoops, and skid steers
- Use of torches to cut and burn
- Operate drills/jacklegs/stopers
- Removal and installation of underground conveyor systems
- Installation and rehab of structural components
- Perform required maintenance and inspection on tools and equipment to ensure they operate in safe manner as per manufacturer specifications
- Perform other onsite duties as required

- Assist with preparing for onsite project by gathering, loading, sorting equipment and materials
