Description:

Bristol Bay Construction Holdings (BBCH) is seeking an experienced Construction Project Engineer to join the SES Electrical LLC (SEL) team, a subsidiary of BBCH. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the Project Manager by ensuring compliance with applicable regulations, guidelines, QA/QC procedures, protocols, efficiency standards, and specifications. You will also be responsible for maintaining client communication, understanding their needs, and representing our company onsite. This position is located onsite in Oahu, HI with required travel to the job site in Guam.Compensation:

$60,000 - $80,000 USD annual DOEResponsibilities:

  • Support Project Managers and Superintendents by tracking contract documents and addressing field-generated inquiries effectively
  • Review and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and technical documents to ensure precise project execution
  • Assist in creating project schedules based on estimated hours, tasks, milestones, and available resources to meet project requirements
  • Develop and supervise plans while monitoring progress, budget, costs, and schedules for assigned projects
  • Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure accurate and complete submittals before submission to the government
  • Organize site walks with subcontractors and government officials, clearly defining meeting details
  • Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards by inspecting worksite locations for adherence to regulations
  • Manage the selection and performance of subcontractors while maintaining regular communication with project stakeholders
  • Handle the RFI process diligently to ensure prompt responses
  • Procure materials for projects, ensuring timely deliveries even when products need to be manufactured or shipped internationally
  • Coordinate project close-outs, O&M’s, as-builts, and warranties in alignment with contract specifications

Qualifications:

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Must possess a valid US Passport
  • Must hold a valid Driver’s License
  • Should have the capability to acquire necessary security clearances as mandated by the task order
  • Requires a minimum of 5 years of construction experience with NAVFAC, USACE, or Coast Guard
  • Proficiency in comprehending and interpreting contract drawings and specifications is essential
  • Excellent communication skills in both written and spoken English are required
  • Proficient in NAVFAC software and tools, including MS Office, Teams, Primavera P6, CostWorks, Success Estimator, and Schedule Analyzer reports
  • Understanding of Federal contracts, bid assumptions, plans, specifications, subcontracts, and purchase orders is necessary
  • Experience in planning and scheduling processes and the ability to assist in establishing project schedules is a must
  • Ability to interpret schedules to assist in determining extensions or acceleration due to weather impacts, change orders, delays, etc.
  • Skilled in coordinating and participating in team meetings, and setting key agenda times
  • Proficient in developing required contractual documentation such as correspondence, daily reports, weekly progress reports, drawings, submittals, subcontracts, purchase orders, payment requests, and invoices
  • Capable of coordinating and scheduling submittal data promptly, including shop drawings, photos, material certificates, and test reports
  • Experienced in assisting project teams in coordinating with public utility companies and securing necessary permits ahead of work dates
  • Proficient in developing the Onsite Construction Specific Logistics Plan before starting work
  • Skilled in drafting and editing plans (As-Builts, Paving Plans, Temporary Traffic Control Plans, etc.)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

This position requires the ability to maneuver around work sites, see, hear, and verbally communicate with co-workers and clients. Essential and marginal functions may require maintaining the physical condition necessary for bending, stooping, sitting, walking, climbing, or standing for prolonged periods of time; frequent opportunity to move about and to work outside the office environment for extended periods involving exposure to the elements with weather that will include extreme heat, cold, wind, rain or other inclement weather, walking over rough and uneven surfaces, and routine lifting of up to 35 pounds. If required, must properly use personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times including but not limited to; hard hats, steel-toed boots, eye protection, respiratory protection, and hearing protection.
