JOB SUMMARY:

The Construction Project Manager will oversee and manage construction projects for a distribution center, ensuring they are completed safely, efficiently, and within budget. This role involves coordinating with various departments, contractors, and teams to achieve project goals. The ideal candidate should have commercial or industrial construction management experience and be proficient in problem-solving, project budgeting, and maintaining strong communication with team members and external stakeholders.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5-8 years of industry experience, preferably in roles such as Project Engineer, Assistant Project Manager, Superintendent, or Project Manager.
  • Firm knowledge of construction, architecture, or commercial real estate industry.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans, lease agreements, and building codes.
  • Proficiency in MS Office software, especially MS Excel. Experience with construction management software is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for interactions with internal and external clients.
  • Superior organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities while prioritizing safety and security.
  • Willingness to travel domestically up to 25% as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversees and manages all aspects of construction projects for distribution centers.
  • Coordinates effectively with contractors to ensure project requirements are met.
  • Utilizes construction experience to ensure adherence to relevant building codes and safety standards.
  • Develops and manages project budgets, including hard and soft costs.
  • Creates and manages project schedules, ensuring tasks are completed on time.
  • Assembles and manages teams of consultants and contractors, negotiating contracts and maintaining relationships.
  • Provides on-site supervision to ensure project performance criteria are met.
  • Identifies and addresses potential liabilities and risks.
  • Assists in training and developing project team members.
  • Engages in business development activities to secure new construction projects and partnerships within local markets.
  • Other job related duties as assigned.
