Description:
SALARY: UP TO £70,000 DEPENDANT ON EXPERIENCE
We are looking for a Construction Project Manager to join our Capital and Facilities team based in London.
We are a client team of Project Managers, with a real focus on delivering world class facilities in a modern and fresh way for our patients, consultants, and healthcare colleagues. We are embracing sustainability in our projects and are keen to drive technology and innovation to help us achieve net zero by 2050.
As a Construction Project Manager, you will undertake the project management of small to medium sized projects within an existing portfolio of hospital buildings in the UK, encompassing anything from new technology, diagnostic imaging replacements, new theatres to entire new hospitals and beyond.
We have a strong pipeline of work for 2024 and beyond and are looking to add a versatile project manager with excellent stake holder management and exceptional communication skills (both written and verbal). Healthcare experience is desirable not essential for the right candidate.
In order to maximise the team’s learning and knowledge sharing and as client-side Project Managers we expect our PM’s to be in our team space at Head Office or on-site managing projects circa 4 days per week, with flexibility on home working 1 day per week as required. We are a collaborative; super supportive team and we offer a professional and fun team environment to work in.
Above all else, we’re committed to the care and improvement of human life. It is this guiding vision that influences everything we do at HCA UK. From the CEO to the colleagues on the floor we all have a part to play in delivering exceptional care to our patients. Other’s may think this is just a role in our Capital and Facilities team, but to us, you will be part of a wider team with a unique sense of purpose, one that helps improve lives on a daily basis.
Responsibilities:
- Act in the role of client project manager for capital projects in the built environment across HCA Healthcare UK.
- To lead the project engagement with all key stakeholders including the establishment of clear lines of communication throughout the project lifecycle. As a team we will support you in your development of communication skills and critical thinking to ensure exceptional project communications as a matter of course.
- Delivering high quality solutions on time, to the right scope, and on budget, with minimum levels of disruption to hospital and corporate operations.
- To ensure our projects are delivered as sustainably as possible whilst meeting our rigorous industry standards for healthcare projects.
- To drive value for money through the management of tender processes thereby ensuring HCA Healthcare UK maximises the business benefit from the capital investment.
- To support the senior team in preparing project briefs and early business case information for new projects, working alongside our clinical and corporate colleagues across the business.
- To manage the commercial outcomes of the project including forecasting and accruals with support from our team of excellent QS’s.
- To manage and report on project risk, issues, and opportunities as part of the wider capital programme.
- To appoint and lead external teams of consultants from project inception onwards from our small framework of high-quality design and construction professionals.
- To support the contract development and administration process for each project.
- To work with our clinical and purchasing team colleagues to ensure equipment needs are identified early in projects and delivered on time and on budget.
- To work and coordinate with our IT colleagues to ensure equipment, hardware and software is captured early on in projects and delivered on time and on budget.
