JOB SPECIFICATION: QUALITY MANAGER - BUILDING ENVELOPE SYSTEMS

Position: Quality Manager
Location: Ireland, UK, and Europe
Industry: High Tech, Mission Critical, and Pharmaceutical Infrastructure Projects
Job Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Quality Manager to oversee quality assurance for the installation of building envelope systems on high tech, mission critical, and pharmaceutical infrastructure projects across Ireland, the UK, and Europe. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of building envelope systems, exceptional attention to detail, and a proven track record in quality management within similar industries.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality management within the construction industry, with a focus on building envelope systems.
  • Strong knowledge of high tech, mission critical, and pharmaceutical infrastructure project requirements.
  • In-depth understanding of relevant industry standards and regulations (e.g., ISO 9001, EN standards).
  • Proven experience in conducting quality audits, inspections, and managing quality documentation.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multi-project environment.
  • Proficiency in quality management software and tools.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Professional certification in quality management (e.g., CQE, CQM).
  • Experience working on large-scale, complex infrastructure projects.
  • Familiarity with Building Information Modeling (BIM) and other advanced construction technologies.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Willingness to travel extensively across Ireland, the UK, and Europe to oversee quality assurance activities on various project sites.

Responsibilities:

  • Quality Assurance and Control:
  • Develop and implement quality assurance plans and procedures specific to building envelope systems.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits of installation processes to ensure compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor and document quality performance metrics and implement corrective actions where necessary.
  • Project Management:
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure quality requirements are integrated into project planning and execution.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to project teams on quality-related issues.
  • Manage and coordinate quality assurance activities across multiple projects and locations.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
  • Prepare and maintain comprehensive quality documentation, including inspection reports, non-conformance reports, and quality control records.
  • Report on quality performance to senior management and clients, highlighting key issues and recommending improvements.
  • Ensure all documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and compliant with relevant standards and regulations.
  • Supplier and Subcontractor Management:
  • Evaluate and approve suppliers and subcontractors based on their quality management systems and performance.
  • Conduct audits and assessments of suppliers and subcontractors to ensure they meet project quality requirements.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to promote continuous improvement in quality standards.
  • Training and Development:
  • Provide training and guidance to project teams and subcontractors on quality assurance procedures and best practices.
  • Stay current with industry trends, standards, and regulations related to building envelope systems and quality management.
  • Promote a culture of quality and continuous improvement within the organization.
