Summary
Working closely with Construction Management, the Project Manager ensures adherence to standards to deliver safe and reliable electric service efficiently and economically. Collaboration and strategic coordination with counterparts across NiSource companies and the industry are integral to achieving cost-effective project management that enhances the overall customer experience. The Project Manager oversees the planning, estimation, permitting, scheduling, budgeting, risk analysis, material procurement, land agreements, engineering services, and facilitates the preparation of electric distribution and transmission projects for the bidding process. Additionally, they play a key role in assisting with contractor selection, monitoring field construction, overseeing in-service facilitation, and managing project close-out. The Project Manager maintains open communication, both written and verbal, with peers and leadership, providing regular updates and addressing any concerns.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Establishes effective scope, schedule, and cost baselines and drives change management to measure progress against plans and identifies when corrective actions are needed
Works with Construction Management to provide safe, efficient, quality construction that complies with policies, practices, procedures and standards
Collaboration between project managers, construction management, engineers, environmental, supply chain, and other project stakeholders, holding them accountable
Completes construction projects that exceeds customer expectations and meets all established project requirements
Promotes relationships with external municipalities and local authorities
Understanding and management of project contracts
Ensures timely and accurate schedule updates and invoicing
Effective team relationships throughout field and office
Project success is based on the ability to complete all projects in a safe, reliable, efficient manner, within the authorized budget, on time and with no significant environmental/regulatory notices, violations, or citations
Monitors and communicates progress of projects related to baselined schedule/milestones, forecasted/approved spends, project status updates, , material management, and land services requirements
Constant monitoring and evaluation of project risks

Pay Grade: $77,400.00 - $116,200.00 Annual

Required Qualifications for Position
Bachelor’s Degree in Technical plus 2 years technical experience or 5 years project/architectural engineering/technical experience or existing Construction Manager (CM), or Project Engineer 2 (PE2) or Senior Project Developer
Expand the project management knowledge base in project management methodology, processes, tools, techniques, and software, increasing personal maturity in project management (Level 3 maturity)
Expanded comprehension in project management guidelines, standard, processes, and job aids.
Expanded proficiency in project management information systems (PMIS) utilization and integration; scheduling software, risk management software, cost management software, and performance metrics (and dashboards) and tool integration of project controls information.
Applies an increasing proficiency in leadership, management, organizational theory, personal, people skills in a “situational leadership” application. Manages project stakeholders using cognitive ability, personal effectiveness, innovation, value-based decision-making, integrated communication (soft and hard skills); conflict resolution, and team work
Capability to efficiently perform duties under stringent deadlines, schedules, and conditions.
Must be able to work a flexible work schedule.
Must be able to work in areas of high noise, dust, extreme temperatures, confined spaces, and chemical hazards.
Must possess a valid motor vehicle operator’s license.
Position may require up to 50% travel.
Preferred Additional Qualifications for Position
Bachelor’s degree in engineering; experience in large industrial Capital Project environments.

Pay Range: $91,000.00 - $136,600.00 Annual

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction, Project Management, or other related field of study
5+ years’ experience managing construction related projects.
3+ years’ experience working with pipeline construction contractors.
3+ years’ experience working with project budgets.
Valid Driver’s License
Travel Percentage: 30 - 40%
Preferred Additional Qualifications for Position
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
Knowledge of gas system design and operations including gas flow, construction, contracts, and emergency response.
Knowledge of local, state, and federal operating codes and construction codes
Proficiency with personal computers, construction scheduling software, Microsoft Excel, Power Point Presentations, and other computer software related to pipeline construction project management.
Working knowledge of operations support systems, i.e. WMS, etc.
Job Title: Sr Project Manager
Pay Range: $107,000.00 - $160,500.00 Annual
