Description:

Team Horizon is seeking an experienced Construction Solicitor for a leading construction company based in Dublin. Our client is seeking a candidate who is self-motivated and wants to progress in their career.

What you will be doing:
Provide construction law advice and support on client commercial contracts including drafting and negotiation.
Work with leaders and managers to continue to build a culture aligned to our values and associated behaviors, which are also focused on trust, respect and fairness, the supporting of diversity and inclusion, wellbeing and employee engagement initiatives.
Inform on legal related activities and business strategies, by using coaching methods to drive a culture of continuous improvement in the areas of legal risk management.
Act as first point of contact for contract interpretation, including on liability, operational issues, risk identification and management, dispute avoidance and resolution, opportunity establishment, which arise from the company’s contractual relationships.
Develop and implement processes related to contract review and governance.
Continuously drive improvements in systems, policies and procedures through external market trends, insight and internal best practice.
Provide guidance and support to managers on the planning, implementation and administration of training plans, actively encouraging a culture of learning and development, including working with managers to effectively drive the improvements in legal competence of our non-legal teams and effective legal risk management.
Assess, develop and implement the company’s processes and protocols, including the development of robust contract administration procedures on projects to ensure the greatest level of contractual protection, the management of risk and the maximization of opportunity.
Provide ongoing legal support and advice to the main board, senior managers and project teams.
Draft, review and negotiate where necessary contracts with the company’s supply chain.
Ensure the company’s compliance with all laws and regulations as they relate to the operational activities.
Keep up to date with changes in law and professional practice through Continuous Professional Development.
Advise and support the project teams in matters relating to Claims upward and Claims rebuttal and defense with the supply chain.
Promote legal, compliance and risk management best practice throughout the company.
Remain abreast of changes in legislation that directly affect the company’s operations.
Design and delivery of contractual training to the business.
Take the initiative, promote and support on legal initiatives, strategy, promoting commercial awareness and implementing policies and procedures company wide including across multiple jurisdictions.
What you need to apply:
5+ years relevant experience, preferably in the construction sector.
Excellent administration and computer skills.
Organised, professional and flexible.
Self-motivated and able to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
Positive, can-do attitude and strong team spirit.
Demonstrate a commercial and creative approach to providing legal solutions
