Job Description

Responsibilities:

The Supervisor is required to work closely with the Project Manager and Construction Superintendent to coordinate site construction activities and provide supervision to field employees and sub-contractors to successfully complete the assigned work on schedule and within budget. Critical to this role is the need to ensure full compliance with all the HSEQ and contractual requirements. The key purpose of the role is to support the Project Team to deliver project outcomes for the client.
This role will require travel to a remote project site in WA to work 18 days, with 8 days off and 2 additional days for travel.

Duties will include but not be limited to:

  • Supervise the project field work employees and subcontractors, and the assigned work sites, to ensure that the site workers are safe and compliant with all the HSEQ requirements including specific client/s requirements, to ensure that the work is performed as per the standards and specific client/s instructions, prevent non-conformances and possible re-work;
  • Have full knowledge and control of the current and scheduled (planned) work, their scope, locations, nature, resource allocation, availability of materials, plant, equipment and tools, to have full knowledge of the respective timelines and deadlines.
  • Have or acquire comprehensive knowledge of the recently completed work on the assigned project/s;
  • Manage and follow the set contractual processes, ensure with the PM that works outside the set scope of contractual work (variations) are preapproved prior to performing such work, ensure that the variations are kept within the approved scope and ensure that the commissioning and commercial aspects are fully communicated to the MTA PM;
  • Promptly address issues on site, attend site/s as necessary to physically assess the issue/s and make educated/informed decisions, bear the responsibility for those decisions and, if in doubt, seek advice from the client and/or the MTA PM.
  • Other responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following: completion of field inspections, handling variations, conducting toolbox meetings and safety audits, and preparing reports and documentation as required.
