This role is being established to help in developing a sports strategy and enable UNICEF to get more visibility in the world of sports especially in Football before the World Cup in 2026, starting with concrete support to the Mexico CO and linking their country-level work with global strategy and including co-host countries, USA and Canada. Four main areas have been identified:
1. Sports Strategy: Draw a plan and strategy for the partnerships and activations.
2. Sports mapping and partnership cultivation: Scan, Identify and establish contact with potential partners aligned with the strategy.
3. Industry trends and insights: Keep UNICEF up to date on the area of sports around the world.
4. Sports Conferences Participation: Ensure that UNICEF is participating in the major sports conferences & events globally as it relates to UNICEF’s guidance, leadership and involvement for children.

EDUCATION:

  • First level university degree (Bachelor) in Communication, Marketing, Business administration, or another relevant field is required.
  • Advanced certificate in Sports Management.EXPERIENCE:
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant professional work experience in marketing, research, licensing, partnerships in sports, and events management.
  • Prior experience is sports marketing, sports management and events management is highly desirable.
  • Experience in the area of licensing, partnerships and sponsorship in sports is desirable.
  • Experience in Business development and managing relations with sports entities.
  • Some experience in desk research, mapping, profiling, and monitoring companies’ and best practices.
  • Strong knowledge of UNICEF and prior experience in one of the UN organizations is desirable.
  • Experience working in an international environment is a plus.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Spanish is highly desirable.LANGUAGE:
  • Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of an additional UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, and Spanish) is an asset.
