Description:

SUMMARY

The Consultant and Trainer will provide consultation, training, and technical support to provider organizations and their stakeholders in the implementation of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Psychosis (CBTp) and CBTp-informed practices for people with serious mental illness affected by psychosis that are disseminated by the BeST Center at NEOMED. The Consultant and Trainer will work closely with providers at community mental health agencies to enhance their capacity to deliver these services, including program evaluation, outcomes and quality improvement monitoring and consultation functions with a goal of wide dissemination.
The Consultant and Trainer plays a role in development and conduct of program and practice evaluation to enhance implementation and sustainability of BeST practices and represents the BeST Center’s programs at local, statewide, or national conferences and events. The selected candidate should be willing to make a multi-year commitment to the BeST Center. An eligible candidate may be considered for a faculty appointment within the Department of Psychiatry.

Senior Consultant & Trainer
Pay Grade 10
Starting Salary Range: $58,598 – $69,341
Senior Consultant & Trainer will have ongoing leadership roles in project management, grant seeking and management and/or people management and will be expected to engage in scholarly work to contribute to the broader field.

QUALIFICATIONS

Managing Consultant Trainer:
Master’s degree or PhD in Social Work, Counseling and/or Psychology and professional licensure in respective discipline required. Minimum of three years of experience working with individuals diagnosed with severe mental illness and familiarity with evidence supported practices for people with serious mental illnesses. Content expertise in psychosocial programs.
Senior Consultant Trainer:
Master’s degree or PhD in Social Work, Counseling and/or Psychology and professional licensure in respective discipline required. Licensure with supervision designation required when available. A minimum of five years of experience working with individuals diagnosed with severe mental illness and strong working knowledge of evidence supported practices for people with serious mental illnesses are required. Experience providing consultation or training on the implementation of evidence-supported practices required. Content expertise in psychosocial programs is required. Eligible for certification or certified in CBT or CBTp required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Managing Consultant Trainer:

  • Licensure with supervision designation preferred. At least five years of experience working with individuals diagnosed with severe mental illness and familiarity with evidence supported practices for people with serious mental illnesses preferred. ). Experience providing consultation or training on the implementation of evidence-supported practices preferred. Management or other leadership experience working in community mental health settings with people diagnosed with schizophrenia-spectrum disorders preferred. Certification in CBT or CBTp preferred.

Senior Consultant Trainer:

  • Doctoral degree preferred. Management or other leadership experience working in community mental health settings with people diagnosed with schizophrenia-spectrum disorders strongly preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to utilize a phone, computer and screen and other office equipment. While performing the duties of the job, the employee is frequently required to sit; talk; or hear and occasionally stand, walk, reach, stoop, or kneel. Must be able to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.

Responsibilities:

1) Consultation and Training with provider agencies and clinical staff. Attend supervision meetings, coordinate services, and ensure fidelity to model.
2) Collaboration with BeST Center team members, consultants, external experts, clinical partners, and academic associates. Ensure state of the art programming.
3) Develop and enhance manuals, handbooks, training materials, and implementation supports.
4) Develop and monitor implementation action plans, clinical outcomes tracking processes, and evaluation plans, working with information technology and clinical teams.
5) Conduct presentations, outreach activities, and support or lead (senior) efforts seeking and obtaining extramural funding to support program development.
6) Senior Consultant & Trainer will serve in leadership and manage designated projects, extramural funding, programs and/or people.
