Consultant Clinical / Counselling Psychologist
Children and Young People’s Mental Health Services; Access, Advice and Getting Help Services Band 8c, part-time (1.0 wte) permanent post

This is a n exciting opportunity to join the service as we shape our services in line with the THRIVE model. The service area consists of teams delivering prevention and early access to help, for children and young people with mental health difficulties, working alongside and supporting colleagues in universal services, schools and local authority early help services, education and primary care . You will have responsibility for the psychological provision of services delivering care aligned to Thriving, Getting Advice and Support and Getting Help needs based grouping in the Thrive framework across Berkshire Healthcare.
Working in Berkshire localities/Places and with colleagues from across the Trust and other agencies, you will have the opportunity to take a leading role in focussing and progressing our psychological care provision. You will be supported to develop your clinical leadership and change management skills, while continuing to use your supervision, consultation, training and governance skills to enhance patient and staff well-being.
To provide clinical, professional, and operationally enabled leadership for services within area of responsibility.
To ensure the systematic provision of high-quality evidence-based specialist psychological provision within the area of responsibility, and collaborating closely with other psychological consultants, clinical and professional leads, develop cohesive psychological pathways across service boundaries.
To work with other clinical and professional leads and managers within the wider services and across local/regional system
To ensure that systems are in place and working effectively for the clinical and professional supervision and support of psychological professionals and practitioners, including working alongside operational managers to ensure clear systems for effective recruitment, professional appraisal, and the identification of CPD (Continuing Professional Development) needs.
To provide support and advice to managers and colleagues on issues concerned with evidence-based psychological practice and provide expert clinical consultation and professional guidance to psychological practitioners and other staff within areas of responsibility, across the wider service, division and across the Trust and system partners, as required .
To provide expert consultation, teaching & supervision to psychological professionals & practitioners, and other staff both within the service and external to the services/agencies

Responsibilities:

  1. C linical / counselling psychologist with HCPC registration
  2. Previous clinical leadership experience in Children and Adolescent Mental Health Services ( CAMHS)
  3. Extensive experience of teaching and professional/clinical supervision along with development of training and supervision models
  4. Experience of managing strategic projects
