What you’ll be working on:
Help us plan for the future with our digital progression programme. The Digital Progression programme is focused on the identification of emerging technical trends that will impact the insurance value chain: monitor and scanning activities, experimentation activities, scaling and capability building capabilities. You will be responsible for managing and refining our process and building consensus across the Liberty Mutual enterprise as we design for the future.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS WE NEED:

  • A minimum of 3 years recent relevant technical experience at a senior level, with a proven track record of providing technical leadership on complex / challenging technical projects
  • Deep insurance industry knowledge and experience
  • Extensive knowledge of emerging technologies and trends
  • Strategic thinker and implementor; experienced in successfully drive change into the department to support overall company strategy and direction.
  • Have extensive agile knowledge.
  • Experience of introducing cultural change.
  • Strong leadership, coaching and mentoring skills.
  • Experience in building strong customer / business partner relationships

Responsibilities:

  • Act as lead on significant Digital transformation engagements from inception through to conclusion acting as the key driver along the full digital lifecycle. Partnering with Business, IT, Liberty IT and vendor groups and acting as the glue to bring all parties together gain alignment and driving the program through to value realization.
  • Partner with the leadership and play a significant role on LIT’s Digital Engagements, ensuring you gain alignment with the various stakeholders and progress the engagement through to conclusion. Act as a lead on a phase of the Digital engagement, most probably exploration.
  • Design and develop Liberty IT’s consulting capability, generating appropriate funding for consulting engagements.
  • Build a culture of experimentation and adoption of new capabilities, resulting in the ongoing evolution of a suite of common practices, techniques & processes across Liberty IT which adds business value. Seen as a Subject Matter Expert in techniques and practices for consulting and leading large change programs. Will be sought out for advice and support on adoption of new capabilities. Early adopter and instrumental in influencing how capabilities are to be scaled and into which areas.
  • Build strong and true partnerships at the programme level in alignment with Liberty IT Emerging Business and Technology objectives to ensure Incubator and Liberty IT are appropriately positioned to execute on their strategic objectives. Recognised as an equal and a leader at the initiative level being asked for advice and challenging partners in equal measure.
  • Partner with Liberty IT leadership and Incubator leadership to provide consultancy services into our LM Business partners. Lead Business Consultancy engagements and capable of integrating with the Business team, fully conversant in the business language and understanding. Build a strong relationship and understanding with Liberty Mutual Business and IT partners, positioning Liberty IT for high quality work.
  • Act as a Liberty IT ambassador both internally for Liberty IT and in the external market. Will be held up as a role model for our staff and is visibly seen promoting the company values.
  • Regularly asked to present or represent significant engagements and will regularly interact with Senior leadership. Very visible promotion of company initiatives and reinforcement of the strategic direction of the company and how each initiative contributes to that overall direction.
  • Use significant experience to coach and mentor other members of staff, helping to grow leaders for the future. Typically coach and mentor at the programme level and be recognised and sought out for these skills and experience.
  • Act as a trusted advisor for a Senior leadership and Director level staff on a significant program or engagement.
  • Enhance Liberty IT’s Innovation capability and influences Liberty Mutual partners’ thinking on how they secure maximum value from LIT. Enable innovation to occur within programmes and across diverse groups transforming how those groups work leaving a legacy of innovative thinking behind.
  • Lead the identification, analysis and resolution of organisational systematic problems and trends – work with other leaders to identify systematic problems or trends and works with appropriate leadership to resolve the issues and propagate learnings.
