WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

This position would be suitable for an individual who thrives in a fast-paced highly collaborative environment. Our ideal candidate will be driven, proactive and results oriented. They will be able to manage their own workload to achieve the best results for our clients. We will be looking for the following capabilities:

  • Hold a tertiary qualification in Urban Planning and Design or related degree
  • Good working knowledge of the NSW and VIC planning systems
  • Ability to interpret and apply planning legislation
  • Ability to critically analyse, problem solve and formulate a position
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications
  • Strong research, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good report writing skills
  • Good organisation and time management skills
  • Ability to work to timeframes
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, including public presentation skills
  • Experience in the preparation of town planning reports and planning advice
  • Experience in management of applications through the planning assessment process
  • Build rapport with clients and other team members easily

Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will:

  • Enjoy working with a wide variety of clients including landowners, developers, local Government and public sector agencies
  • Be part of a growing and fast paced team that offers a supportive learning environment
  • Prepare, lodge and manage planning applications
  • Review planning schemes and interpret legislation
  • Provide planning advice across a broad range of local councils, land uses and development types
  • Work with council, clients and consultant teams to achieve positive planning outcomes
  • Review development plans and technical reports
  • Liaise with clients, sub-consultants, Councils and relevant authorities
  • Contribute to maintaining and growing strong client relationships
