Consultant Haematologist

The post holder should have a broad training in clinical and laboratory haematology and must hold full and specialist registration with a licence to practise with General Medical Council. Additionally, they should be holder of Certificate of Completion of Training or be within six months of award of CCT or equivalent by the date of interview. Development of an area of special interest will be encouraged and the post holder will be expected to participate in the on-call rota, providing advice and clinical help across hospital and community. The successful candidate is expected to undertake clinics at Royal Bolton Hospital.
A job plan for the post will be agreed with successful candidates after appointment and reviewed within 6 months. There are opportunities to develop new services and expand and consolidate existing services depending on the successful candidates’ interests. The successful candidates will be encouraged and supported to develop their subspecialty interests. There is opportunity to take lead roles in various elements of the service such as cancer care, laboratory haematology, anticoagulation, obstetric haematology and clinical governance etc
