Description:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a substantive position as a general Consultant Anaesthetist to join our team working across two sites at the University Hospital of Lewisham and Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Woolwich.

This is a substantive consultant post in anaesthetics at Lewisham & Greenwich NHS Trust (LGT). We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic colleague, who is committed to maintaining the highest standards in patient care, and who shares in the team vision to develop the Anaesthetic services at Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust.
Initially the 10 PA plan would comprise of 7.5 PA of direct clinical care (DCC) and 2.5 PA of supporting professional activity (SPA). One programmed activity of DCC is included for on call activity which will be base at either one of the sites. This post is expected to involve cross site daytime sessions and weekend direct clinical care. The overall commitment in the job plan will be annualised with regard to sessions worked.

Responsibilities:
Participate in the provision of a safe, effective and efficient Anaesthetic service, and with the proper functioning of the Anaesthetic Department. This will include some flexibility of fixed commitments.
Participate in the anaesthetic consultant on call rota
Be prepared to work on both sites of the Trust. Although on call duties will be undertaken solely at one of the two sites, some elective theatre sessions do occur cross site when necessary.
Assist when required in the provision of Critical Care services.
