We are seeking to appoint a permanent 10 session Consultant Medical Oncologist in GI and Acute Oncology Service.
This new post is an exciting opportunity for a medical oncologist to join the GI team at UCLH and contribute to the delivery of excellent oncological care at UCLH. The individual will be responsible for the delivery of systemic therapy for patients with GI cancers, supporting the clinical activities of the service and relevant clinical research, audit and teaching.
The new consultant will be joining a friendly and forward-thinking consultant team of clinical and medical oncologists who are committed to delivering highest standards of cancer care alongside a large team of other clinical and non-clinical professionals.

This new post is an exciting opportunity for a medical oncologist to join the GI team at UCLH. The postholder will be responsible for the delivery of systemic therapy for patients with GI cancers, attending MDTs and taking part in outpatient clinics and ward rounds.
The postholder will participate in the GI oncology attending ward rota at UCLH as well as UCLH on call rotas (freq 1:25 or thereabouts). An interest in cholangiocarcinoma would be useful for this position.

The remit of this position is to join the gastrointestinal (GI) medical oncology service with Professor John Bridgewater, Professor Daniel Hochhauser, Dr Kai-Keen Shiu and Dr Khurum Khan, as part of the GI service at UCH. The clinical oncology service is provided by Professor Maria Hawkins, Dr Glen Blackman and Dr Tom Richards. The team are international leaders in clinical trials and laboratory-based research at UCL; with strong collaborative links with their partners including the Francis Crick Institute. Trials are also in set up to integrate with the the UCLH Proton Beam Facility which opened in 2021.The team also work very closely with the Whittington hospital and often provide support and advice to the respective clinical team and attend mutual MDTs.
