Description:

This is a new 10PA post. It is envisaged that the post-holder will have clinical commitments in both Colorectal and Lymphoma oncology, being actively involved in these disease groups.
The post-holder will work to deliver high quality clinical care and develop clinical research opportunities for patients in Bolton with colorectal cancer.
To develop and deliver a high quality clinical and research service to improve outcomes for patients with lymphoma. The appointee will be responsible for patients in their care in partnership with colleagues on the Lymphoma Group.
The appointee will be expected to develop a significant interest in colorectal and lymphoma oncology delivering systemic therapy. The post holder will:
Provide overarching care and responsibility for medical oncology inpatients and outpatients.
Develop, lead and deliver a high-quality clinical service to improve clinical outcomes.
Support consultant colleagues, junior doctors and nursing staff and liaise closely with senior medical colleagues from other specialties to provide supportive care to unwell patients (acute oncology, CCU, neurology, respiratory etc).
Conform to GMC’s guidelines on Good Medical Practice and Good Clinical Practice for Research.
Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings for patient selection, management decisions and operational logistics (treatment scheduling, risk assessment, etc).
Deliver teaching and training to medical and nursing staff, including the option to act as educational supervisor for postgraduate doctors in training.
