Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Oral Health Therapist to join our team in a newly created part-time position. This role, designed to work 2 days per week, is flexible regarding the location depending on the candidate and focuses on upholding and enhancing the quality of Oral Health Therapy services within the Bupa network.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experience: A minimum of 7 years of experience as an Oral Health Therapist.
  • Professional Development: A commitment to maintaining clinical expertise through continuous professional development and upgrading of clinical and management skills and knowledge.
  • Qualifications: A tertiary degree (or equivalent) qualification in Oral Health Therapy or Dental Therapy.
  • Registration: Unrestricted valid AHPRA Registration.
  • Licensing: A valid radiation licence to operate Dental Diagnostic Radiography (intraoral and/or extraoral).
  • Additional Qualifications: Post-graduate qualification in management, public health, health promotion, or research is highly desirable.

Responsibilities:

  • Professional Guidance: Provide expert advice and guidance to Bupa therapists.
  • Clinical Team Support: Assist the clinical team with performance improvement strategies, policy initiatives, education and training, project management, and service delivery development.
  • Development and Implementation: Collaborate with the clinical leadership team to develop and implement clinical, managerial, governance, and development activities, strategies, and processes.
  • Workforce Planning: Provide advice on mentoring, recruitment, selection, and performance management for Oral Health Therapists and Hygienists/Therapists.
  • Team Collaboration: Act as a valuable and collaborative member of the clinical team through project management, reporting, and evaluation of policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Counsel and Advice: Offer authoritative counsel and advice to the clinical team and other managerial or relevant stakeholders as required.
  • Clinical Practice: Maintain a clinical scope of practice and perform clinical duties as needed.
  • Stakeholder Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders.
