Summary of Role & Key Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a Consultant or Senior Consultant to join our Climate Resiliency & Decarbonisation services team based in any of our city locations across Australia. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in carbon accounting and decarbonisation to aid in the delivery of impactful consulting projects and help clients meet their emission reduction goals.
Working with a team known for its collaborative, positive and supportive culture, you will play an important role in advising and implementing solutions for our clients that drive sustainable performance. You will deliver advisory services that support our clients throughout their net zero journey, in areas such as decarbonisation, mining, carbon foot-printing, carbon markets, renewable energy, climate risk and ESG strategy.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Prepare greenhouse gas (GHG) accounts, trajectories, and net zero emissions pathways in accordance with relevant standards.
  • Provide tailored strategic advice to clients based on analysis of these inventories
  • Support our clients to achieve their climate related goals.
  • Understand and communicate GHG inventories and corporate Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions footprints.
  • Help our clients to develop and implement sustainability and Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) strategies.
  • Depending on your specialisation and interests, be involved in projects such as:
  • Industrial decarbonisation.
  • Science Based Target initiative (SBTi).
  • Carbon offsetting project development under Australian and international programs.
  • Greenhouse gas and energy accounting and auditing under compliance schemes such as the National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting (NGERs) and Safeguard Mechanism.
  • Develop, communicate and implement energy efficiency and emissions reductions strategies.
  • Support carbon neutral certification under the Climate Active standard.
  • Provide Renewable energy advice and procurement for large industrials and corporates.
  • Support the development of proposals that demonstrate an understanding of the client’s business and creative scopes of work to achieve their goals, and actively contribute to Anthesis’ business development activities.
    Key Skills & Experience Required

The ideal candidate will

  • A passion to solve climate change through the full spectrum of technical, social and economic tools available.
  • An engineering or similar technical degree.
  • Post graduate studies in business, energy, climate change and/or sustainability desirable but not essential
  • Candidates with accounting, finance and economics backgrounds will also be considered
  • 1 to 5 years of relevant professional experience; consulting experience well regarded.
  • Comfort with a fast-paced, client-oriented environment, including critical thinking skills on environment and sustainability problems.
  • Ability to liaise effectively and communicate with a range of stakeholders to build client relationships and grow business development opportunities.
  • Strong data analysis and interpretation skills, including advanced MS Excel skills.
  • Previous experience and demonstrated GHG accounting skills under applicable Australian and global frameworks (Climate Active, the GHG Protocol series, NGERs etc.).
  • Previous project management experience across multi-disciplinary teams desirable but not essential.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team, including clients.
  • Eagerness to learn, grow, and challenge yourself.
  • Australian residency or work visa.
  • Ability to travel for work.
