The role/department
The Human Resources department plays a critical role in managing the organisation’s most important asset, its people, and is responsible for a broad range of activities, including identifying and recruiting the best available talent, and partnering with managers to retain, develop and motivate our people to reach their fullest potential.
The Manila Human Resources team serves the organisation locally for Philippines, as well as partnering with the wider APAC, US and EMEA Human Resources teams to develop a globally consistent HR strategy and delivery. The HR department include Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, Talent Management, HR Services, Human Resource Consulting Function, HR Analytics and Employee Relations.
The Talent Acquisition team is responsible for overseeing recruitment for our Philippines office and comprises recruiters and coordinators as part of the Global Talent Acquisition team.

The key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Sources, interviews and recommends placement of candidates to managers for entry-level and experienced managerial/professional positions.
  • Screens resumes and applications to evaluate the qualifications of applications and identifies potential candidates for employment.
  • Works closely with hiring managers to develop job specifications and coordinates business unit interviews.
  • Sources candidates utilizing the Internet, employee referrals, manager referrals, candidate referrals, advertising, job fairs, college recruiting, and general inquiries/unsolicited resumes.
  • Communicates job duties and responsibilities, compensation, work schedules, and working conditions to applications.
  • Builds candidate pipelines and advises candidates on Northern’s hiring policies
  • Sells Northern Trust as an employer of choice to candidates and assists in equipping managers to do likewise.
  • Serves as a key subject matter expert
  • May work on assigned projects and learning project management skills.

Skills/qualifications:

  • The successful candidate will demonstrate some of the following skills:
  • 5+ years’ proven track record in recruiting professional roles, financial services or technology industry experience preferred
  • Requires good analytical ability, excellent oral and written communication skills and strong judgment.
  • Strong consulting skills and experienced in client servicing and relationship building.
  • Working experience on recruitment systems particularly Workday.
  • Good understanding of compensation policies and practices.
