This post will help us develop a centre of excellence for prostate care. We already have an X and Xi for robotic cancer surgery. Over the next 3 months new dedicated urology outpatient facilities are planned. The job plan would include flexible cystosocpy clinics, local anaesthetic prostate biopsy clinics and haematuria clinic and a pelvic MDT clinic.
The appointee would also have regular access to robotic theatres and day surgery theatre lists. The appointee would be expected to contribute to the oncall rota on a 1 in 11 ratio. The department is active in medical education, quality improvement and research the appointee would be expected to contribute. The candidate should help progress the already excellent service and in view of this we would be keep for candidates to have experience of day case robot assisted prostatectomy, self trial without catheter or robotic neobladder; as these are aspects of the service which we would like to develop
